Tutorial: Research & Summarization

Goal: Analyze a lengthy PDF report and extract key findings using a Space. Level: Intermediate Time: 5 minutes

Scenario

You have a 50-page "Q3 Financial Report.pdf" and you need to answer specific questions about it without reading the whole thing.

Step 1: Create a Space

1. Open Dashboard > Spaces.
2. Click New Space.
3. Name it: "Q3 Analysis".
4. Drag and drop your PDF into the Space.
5. Wait for the "Ingestion Complete" status.

Step 2: Set Context

1. Ensure "Q3 Analysis" is selected as the Active Space in the Dashboard.

Step 3: Ask Questions

1. Open Rephlo (Hotkey or Tray) without selecting any text (Standalone Mode).
2. Type your question in the input box:

   "What was the total revenue for the North American region, and how does it compare to Q2?"

3. Run the command (or use a generic "Ask Space" command).

Step 4: Analyze Output

Rephlo uses the PDF content to ground the answer, and the AI analyzes it to respond:

"According to the report, North American revenue was $5.2M, which is a 12% increase from Q2 ($4.6M)."

Step 5: Verify

Check the History detail to see the full prompt sent to the AI, including the Space content that was included for context.
